If we don't stock what you need or if you need anything that is hard to find, we will go that one step further and get on the phone to our large network of suppliers and chase it down for you at no extra charge.

Ern Smith Building Supplies is located in Hume Canberra, is a well respected Canberra building supplies company which has been supplying building materials to tradesmen, builders and the DIY home handyman of the Canberra and Queanbeyan region since the 1960's. We supply an extensive range of timber products, engineered products, plasterboard products, cement products other building materials and hardware accessories.

At Ern Smith Building Supplies have our own fleet of vehicles allowing us the flexibility to provide same day service.

Our timber range consist of framing pine, treated pine, primed pine, F17 hardwood, merbau, hardwood decking, maple, customwood, cedar lining boards, oregon, hardwood flooring and many more in stock.

We carry a very large quantity of Boral plasterboard products and James Hardie products which are also available in different sizes to suit your needs.

Come and see our Hume Doors display as we are distributor for Hume Doors and also for Corinthian Doors. We stock a number of Hume internal & external doors with easy access to obtain any door if we don't have it in stock. We also have available in all popular finishes external & internal door handles and other door accessories.
